    The second phase of the house isn't triggering for me, as the soulsphere does not appear out the window. I tried running only the pk3 but the issue persists. Can anyone help me?

    I swear ive triple checked my coding syntax, but im getting the "tried to read from memory address zero" error, and its referencing the call from GetTopBuyableItem function and the call from the OrbBuyableItem line above the Statusbar.DrawTexture code. Is it mad that the game starts me off with zero orbs therefore it cant load anything? It has to ignore everything after ClearClipRect in the class or it throws the same error >3<

      Post your code on something like pastebin and I'll have a look! The value being zero shouldn't be a problem - you'll get that error if you try to reference an object that doesn't exist at all. Maybe you've missed initializing something on map start?

      I’ve checked again and maybe I missed out calling OrbDataLibrary.GetInstance() in the event handler for level start…! This will make sure it exists when the UI wants to call it.

      I downloaded the full pk3 and cross-referenced the code after splitting each class into its own ZScript file, and somehow I missed calling the OrbDataLibrary.GetInstance(); line in the OrbSetupHandler entirely. My syntax is not yet up to snuff when coding in ZScript, but I'm taking your tutorials to heart as best I can! Thanks again for all your hard work and support to the community! Much appreciated! ❤️

      My reply mysteriously disappeared on my end, sorry if it shows up twice :'c I somehow completely missed setting up the OrbDataLibrary.GetInstance(); line in OrbSetupHandler, if it was spoken of in the instructions. Granted, my inability to remember all the semi-colons and parentheses had led to its own world of errors along the way >3< But thank you so much for your swift response to the problem! The impact these videos will have on the modding scene will be most interesting to watch! Much thanks to you, and look forward to contributing to the next RAMP if I get good enough in time ;-;

    A tip for InfiniteArchive, I noticed you changed floor texture a lot without changing height. It's not forbidden, nothing is, really, but John Romero had a few rules he always tried to stick to: (Pasted from the Doom Wiki) 1. Always changing floor height when I wanted to change floor textures. 2. Using special border textures between different wall segments and doorways. 3. Being strict about texture alignment. 4. Conscious use of contrast everywhere in a level between light and dark areas, cramped and open areas. 5. Making sure that if a player could see outside that they should be able to somehow get there. 6. Being strict about designing several secret areas on every level. 7. Making my levels flow so the player will revisit areas several times so they will better understand the 3D space of the level. 8. Creating easily recognizable landmarks in several places for easier navigation. I think the top three are the most important of those rules. It's not as though they're never broken in the IWADs at all, even in Knee Deep in the Dead there's a few misaligned textures, and in Doom 2, Sandy Petersen would change floor texture without changing height occasionally, and he would regularly not add border textures when changing wall texture. I think if you have a look at all of the places where you've changed floor texture without changing height, and added even something simple like a single four or eight unit step up, or if you wanted to maintain the same floor height, put like a gutter, or a ridge that looks like a cable conduit, and it will help. (The same tip doesn't apply to &Olga's map, because I see what she did there. This is literally a dungeon from Zelda 1)

    No C64, I have spent the most amount of time as a youngster on that version and just today a friend told me about a remake and cart released for the C64 which is meant to be great? I liked the video, thank you, I prefer the Mega CD version over all others, I think it is better than the SNES version, I know the DOS version is the said to be the best, but the crown does belong to the Apple II version because it just plays so well and looks so nice and the hardware so old, I have played it on a real Apple II as well, actually all my experienced versions were played on real hardware, was there an Amiga 500 version, I'm sure I have played it on my mates Amiga as a teen??? I'm sure it must of been okay, the 60hz version of the game on the Mega CD is the one for me as well and it does make a difference to the gameplay. Thank you again for your great video, super fast commentary which was very comical and made me laugh which I needed today, thank you.

    ShadowDoom Keep was my take on the Shadowfang Keep dungeon from Warcraft, reimagined as a Doom level. The scale and proportions are not accurate, but the layout is. Glad the particle effects gave the impression of some kind of corrupted grounds. XD The portraits in the dining hall are 6 of the bosses from said dungeon and one painting of the entrance of the dungeon. The one you looked directly at and commented on was the final boss, Arugal.

      This one isn't even a matter of being cryptic, it refers to something that *literally does not exist*. The English translation was done before all the layouts and mechanics were finalized and this "hint" is nowhere to be found in the Japanese releases (in its place, if I recall correctly, you are given the far more sensible "you need arrows to use the bow"). And because what the hint references does not exist, one of the secrets in this map is unreachable by normal means 😛

    Barzakh is such a good map, too bad David only saw the early vanilla limit compatible version of it. Amaruq spent a lot of time making the limit-removing version, which is absolutely amazing, I've been playtesting it and I adore it.

    On the first map (which is my very first Doom 2 wad, and I am very happy, that I actually finished it), the inverted EXIT was supposed to mean, that it is not the real exit :). And the infinitely raising door was my oversight, never thought, that someone will use the activating "line" more, than once :) Thanks for the positiv feedbacks!

    Oh boy. That knight fight before I lowered and extended the cyber demon platforms lol. They were pretty useless turrets. Before hand they just spunn about a lot. I also had to adjust the black sludge because I realized I made the suit accidentally useless by making it super lava Edit: i had some pretty lame secrets come to think of it lmao

I’ve played quite a bit of home brew maps and am very familiar with all the usual tricks and mechanics. But when I saw this, I really wanted to know how it worked,,,,,, then these vids came up from watching another creator go through the map and story.     Hi David! Dom here, thanks for playing my map! Yes, all of the bugs you encountered such as the glass being shootable through or being able to enter the scenery are indeed bugs - I'll fix them before Ramp is over so other peeps who play it should have a nicer time. Glad you found it as spooky as I intended! I agree jump scares are cheap (especially the one when you leave the map lmao) but I thought the one at the beggining was more appropriate as a tension release before you enter the map as the marine. The original spooky part of the map was much longer with some action sections inbetween ala F.E.A.R. but it was around 20 mins long before I even started the final fight so I cut it down to a more managable size, which sadly cut some extra lore about the purpose of the ship and I have some unused audio logs on my drive that aren't on the map. Glad you enjoyed however much you did <3 P.S. I never played Doom 3 either so I have no idea how comperable it was, but originally it was more inspiried by Event Horizon (horrible movie BTW, I thought I could do the concept better lmao) and more horrory WH40K stories. PSS - The intro description said I provided the voice acting, but the feminine voice in the map was my fiance so she's to be credited as well <33

    Glad you enjoyed Geddon! I've been working on my own Doom 1 wad on-and-off for a while now, so this is about the 5th map I've made for it, though it's my first online release thanks to RAMP. I was inspired by a level from Marathon for the idea of having a big corridor that goes around the outside of the map. I like the way it gives the player a route to get anywhere they want, which allows for more complex connections on the inside like the one-way drop near the start. Good job dodging that first cyberdemon, lol. I was worried you might have some trouble with the final fight without the secret BFG, but it turned out ok. I hadn't tried hitting the exit switch early myself so it was cool to see how much that helped.

    If you want to try a not too spooky classic Resident Evil style game, Crow Country is excellent. It's also rather short and inexpensive.

    Fourth map has some amazing atmosphere in it... and while I'm not _entirely_ a wuss, the "customisations" are very much appreciated.

    Alright, about Temple of Hallucinations. First of all - you can't break the lift, once you press the switch the Line_SetBlocking action is used, so there is no way of getting away like that. The red skull part was inspired by Hectic, and there was a crusher near the red skull. However the sign saying that the secret is revealed was actually the thing to stop the crusher! And well, there is no custom boss because I don't really know how to make custom monsters yet (I didn't want to grab anyone from Realm667 because that's not that interesting...). And initially there was supposed to be a map consisting of portals, that's why the level's name has the "Hallucination" word in it. Actually there was even a part when you get to myhouse.wad for a couple of minutes, but that idea got scrapped... for now. The FIREBLU portal teleported you right in front of the brick with vines, also hinting that this is the path to progression. I'm glad you enjoyed this map though, I hope Infusion will be included even though it's going to be deleted because of a 3 maps per person limit. Well, I'll see it tomorrow, and a reminder from Tinsel - ur awesome!
